Laboratory prosthetic reconstructions after an implant integration period. Step by Step:

• After making an impression at the level of implant placement, a prosthetic work is sent to the on-site Markiewicz Clinic. Depending on angulation of the placed implant, a screw-on prosthetic reconstruction or a reconstruction cemented onto an implant abutment is made.
• Next stage includes fixing the fabricated prosthetic reconstruction screwed onto implants in patient’s mouth.
• After receiving the prosthetic reconstruction, a dentist screws an abutment onto the implant. Having evaluated passivity, tightness, and aesthetics of the prosthetic work, as well as obtaining patient’s acceptance, the work is fixed onto the implant. The abutment is screwed into the implant with the force of about 30 Ncm. Then, a prosthetic crown is placed on the abutment and cemented.

Before placing an implant at Markiewicz Clinic, our implantologist performs thorough diagnostics including

Primary stabilization of an implant placed immediately in the bone is important. If this parameter is too low, loading the implant by mounting a crown on it may cause a rejection of the titanium post. One Step Concept is facially driven implant placement at a one stage procedure based on 3D cone beam bone tomography and digital smile project. Author of this innovative method is polish dentist – dr Marek Markiewicz.

This idea involves placing at least two implants to replace the missing teeth. Of course, it is necessary to have the occlusal system and bone condition examined by an implantology expert. After qualifying a patient for the procedure and performing necessary diagnostics, the patient receives a detailed treatment plan including an implant-supported bridge, cost estimate, and schedule.

The advantage of implant-supported bridge over other prosthetic solutions is a complete lack of interference and no need to prepare patient’s adjacent teeth. After placing dental implants in a toothless bone, resorption that occurs every time a tooth is lost is hindered. It is possible thanks to continual stimulation and shifting occlusal forces from the implant-supported bridge to surrounding osseous tissue directly. It leads to a gradual densification of the bone bed in which a dental implant has been placed.

» Crowns with individual abutments – a solution for the most demanding

In order to achieve the expected result in implant treatment we often use individual abutments. As opposed to pre-fabricated standard abutments, technology of fabricating individual abutments is in accordance with an individual design and imitated natural dental tissues in their shape. It allows for biocompatible fabrication and mounting a crown on a dental implant with an individual abutment.

Individual titanium abutments are cut according to a digital design from special titanium blocks. These are the elements that connect an artificial root, i.e. a dental implant, with a dental crown that restores a structure of dental tissues. The shape of an individual abutment influences aesthetic result, shape, emergence profile and tightness of an implant-mounted crown. Connection tightness between particular structures, i.e. dental implant, individual abutment, and crown, is also of key importance.

Special kinds of individual abutments are zirconium hybrid abutments. They are made in cases of replacing teeth in frontal or aesthetic sections. Their main advantage is a natural appearance of gingival tissue over the implant-mounted crown. In this zone the gingiva is naturally pink and does not change its colour to blue, what often happens when titanium abutments without a zirconium layer are used. Aesthetic hybrid abutments are made by firing a zirconium oxide opacifying layer onto an abutment’s titanium base. Placing a crown on such an abutment guarantees the best aesthetic result.
